Testimonials & Reviews

Thanks Helmut for the wine catering at many of our events. Your wines are always a wonderfully welcome blessing – not least for my own private wine cellar ☺. My personal favourites: Dry Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau!
– Eurotext AG, Peter Seltsam (CEO)

It’s about time the Great British Public was introduced to the deliciously dry white wines of Franconia – truly long overdue! This is my favourite wine region in Germany and the distinctive flavour of these dry, fruity wines is a must for any white wine aficionado!
– Jane Rieger, Ruislip

On a Walter Erhard wine: “Obvious! Silvaner, and with this subtle fruityness, this wine can only be from the Lump vineyard…”
– Guntram Fahrner, Best Sommelier in Germany 2001, German Wine Tasting Champion 2004

Quite wonderful wines – and I really appreciate Helmut’s clarity and depth of knowledge when expanding on the tasting notes.
– Jon Ralls, Bristol

Having travelled a lot to Würzburg and the surrounding region on business, I really enjoyed the local Frankenwein. I’ve never found it in the UK before, it’s great that I can now get Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau here too. Well done!

A good 2012 range, with a mineral, dry Silvaner Spätlese from the Escherndorfer Lump vineyard.
– Der Feinschmecker Guide 2014

Things are looking up with the wines from Walter Erhard. 2011 was a good year for him – this skilled wine grower let the Riesling and Silvaner Spätlese shine. In 2012 the Spätlese wines from the (Escherndorfer) Lump turned out very well.
Gault Millau Guide 2014

The new (2012) range presents itself very consistently starting with the delicate Silvaner Qualitätswein. We have particularly fallen for the dry Spätlese wines. . The Scheurebe has a fascinating  pure tone in its bouquet, plump in the mouth, powerful and harmonic with good structure.  The Silvaner is wonderfully clear, powerful and gripping, with structure and substance.
Eichelmann Guide 2014

2012 Volkacher Ratsherr Silvanert Kabinett dry; clear fine herbal and slightly mineral citrus and stone fruit fragrance, with floral nuances. Polished, lusciously fine, not completely dry fruit, herbal tones, slightly earthy minerality in the background, quite lively acidity.  A touch of black berries and a good finish.
